Are you looking for black bean recipes that are easy to make? Well, I have a black bean recipe in mind. However, this recipe has some difference from the regular recipes: it has some added ingredients; it has an extra step for digestion factors and two “don’ts” to be considered.

Preparing the dish will take a long time. But after the tedious preparation, you will get a healthy dish that will last for three to four meals. Before you start making the dish, be reminded that when a bean is paired with rice, quinoa or any other dairy product, it greatly contributes to the daily calorie requirement of the body.

You will need the following ingredients: 1 lb. Black beans, 1/3 cup of olive oil (light), 2 medium-sized onions (diced), 1 walnut sized fresh ginger (grated or minced), 1/2 red pepper (diced), two stalks of celery, 2 medium-sized carrots,1 tbsp of basil, one tsp of each: coriander and oregano, 1/8 tsp of red pepper (crushed),one tsp of red wine vinegar, 2 tsp of salt, 1/4 tsp of ground black pepper and five cups of water.

Cooking Instructions:

  • Put the beans in a pot.
  • Rinse with water then pour in boiling water. Allow to boil for 5 minutes.
  • Put away from stove then cover. Let it stand for an hour.
  • Prepare the ingredients: grated ginger, minced garlic, diced carrots, celery and red pepper and onions.
  • After an hour, drain the water then rinse again and remove all the broken beans.
  • In olive oil, saute the onions and garlic in ten minutes. Add the remaining ingredients and cook again for ten more minutes.
  • Add the spices and water then allow to boil.
  • Allow to simmer until all ingredients become tender.
  • As a result, four meals that will be enough for a family with four members will be made. I would suggest that you follow this menu: Black beans on rice for the 1st day, black beans paired with hamburgers on the 2nd day, Black beans paired with pasta and shrimp for the 3rd day and for the 4th day, rice, black beans and chicken.
