So you had a little bundle of joy and now you have to child proof your home. Child proofing can be expensive and take a lot of the money you worked so hard to earn. That being said, here are some more affordable and easy ways to make your home safer for your infant.
- Wall socket plugs. Those electric wall sockets are just begging to be touched and explored by your infant. Especially once they start crawling. It is also an electrocution waiting to happen. Be sure to put plastic plugs in all of them ,even the ones up higher.
- Cabinet door locks. Cabinets are filled with all sorts of tempting play things that could be deadly to your child. Chemicals are often stored under sinks are easy to get into. Put the plastic pressure locks on the inside so your child stays out.
- Stairs gates. A stairway in the house is open invitation for a fall down them. Put a guard gate across it that has a latch on it. You might even need to put one at the bottom and top, although that is very unlikely.
These simple steps can help make your home safe without having to go back to your mortgage lenders for extra cash.
